Fix broken links
A broken link sends visitors and search engines to a page that no longer exists. CrawlDude finds every one, and the pages they are on.
Find it
- Crawl the site. CrawlDude requests every internal link it finds.
- Click Client error (4xx) in the issues list. The table shows every address that returned an error such as 404 Not Found.
- Click an address, then the Inlinks tab below the table. It lists every page that links to it, with the link text.
Fix it
- Update the link to the right address, or remove it if the page is gone for good.
- If the page moved, add a 301 redirect from the old address to the new one, so old links and bookmarks still work.
- Crawl again. The 4xx count should be zero.

Try it yourself
The tutorial crawls our example pages, which have this problem on purpose. Start a crawl at https://crawldude.com/examples/ in CrawlDude to follow along.
