What the CrawlDude app and this website collect, and what they don't. Last updated 15 October 2026.
The short version
- The app collects nothing about you. There is no account and no telemetry. Your crawls stay on your computer.
- This website uses Google Analytics and Microsoft Clarity to see how visitors use it, with cookies. See the cookie policy.
- We don't sell or share personal data for advertising.

Kidkie Tech AB, Sweden, is the data controller for crawldude.com and the CrawlDude app.

The CrawlDude app
- Crawls and projects are stored only on your computer (on a Mac in
~/Library/Application Support/CrawlDude/). We never receive them. - Crawling: the app sends requests to the websites you crawl, from your own computer and IP address. Those sites can see these requests like any other visit.
- Update checks: when it starts, the app asks GitHub (owned by Microsoft) whether a new version exists, and downloads updates from GitHub. GitHub sees your IP address and the app version, as described in GitHub's privacy statement. We don't receive this information.
- The app has no analytics, tracking or advertising.

Google Analytics and Clarity only run if you accept cookies, and you can change your choice at any time. The site has no forms and no accounts, and we don't combine this data with other information about you.
Who receives data
Google (Analytics), Microsoft (Clarity and GitHub) and Cloudflare (hosting) process data for us as processors. They may process it outside the EU, including in the USA. All three take part in the EU–US Data Privacy Framework, which the European Commission recognises as giving adequate protection.
Their own policies: Google, Microsoft, Cloudflare.
How long data is kept
- Google Analytics and Clarity: for the retention period set in each service, after which they delete it. The cookies' own lifetimes are listed in the cookie policy.
- Cloudflare logs: for the short period Cloudflare keeps them for operations and security.
- Emails: as long as needed to handle your question.
Your rights
Under the GDPR you have the right to access the personal data we hold about you, to have it corrected or deleted, to restrict or object to its processing, to data portability, and to withdraw your consent at any time. Email hello@crawldude.com and we'll answer within one month.
You can also complain to the Swedish Authority for Privacy Protection, IMY.
Changes
If this policy changes, we update this page and the date at the top.
