Changelog

What changed in each version of CrawlDude, newest first. CrawlDude updates itself, or get the latest version from the download page.

0.3.1 Latest

Small fixes to the menu and new crawls.

  • Improved On a Mac, About CrawlDude and Check for Updates are now at the top of the CrawlDude menu, where Mac apps usually have them. On Windows they stay under Help.
  • Fixed New crawl now fills in the project's start URL, or the URL of its latest crawl when none is saved. A project's first crawl saves its URL as the start URL.

0.3.0

The first public release of CrawlDude, for macOS and Windows.

  • New Crawl any site from your computer with no URL limit and find 50+ technical SEO issues: broken links, redirect chains and loops, missing and duplicate titles and descriptions, canonical and noindex problems, duplicate content, mixed content and more.
  • New Projects with saved crawl history, a screenshot of each site, and a site health score you can compare between crawls.
  • New XML sitemap audit with orphan page detection.
  • New AI search readiness: llms.txt checks, AI crawlers in robots.txt, and page signals such as structured data, dates and authors.
  • New Speed score: a 0 to 100 score from server response times, with the median, the 95th percentile and the number of slow pages.
  • New How to fix issues: what every error and warning means and how to fix it, with links to the video tutorials.
  • New Export for AI: a brief for ChatGPT, Claude or an AI agent with instructions, scores and the affected pages, to copy or save as Markdown or JSON. Plus CSV exports of any view and of all issues.
  • New Optional JavaScript rendering per project, for sites built with React, Vue or Angular.
  • New Polite by default: respects robots.txt and crawl delays, and pauses with an explanation when a server starts refusing the crawler, with the option to resume slower.
  • New Updates from inside the app, checked against a signed list of release files. Signed and notarized on macOS; the Windows version isn't code-signed yet, so SmartScreen asks once.
